Samantha, my god-daughter, was diagnosed with muscular atrophy at the age of 9 weeks and we were told that she probably wouldn't live to six months.
She set out to prove them wrong, and battled on to finally succumb to pneumonia, caused through the condition of muscular atrophy, in the early hours of Anzac Day in 1989.
While she was a very sick little girl, she brought much love and happiness to her parents, family and friends of the family.
