We're not sure how old Amy was when she became such an integral part of our family - we think perhaps around 18 months to 2 years old. We think she was probably close to 9 years old when she died.
From the moment she joined us, she adored us ... and it was reciprocated.
Amy was a cheeky, (hence the nickname, Cheeka) stunningly beautiful, pomeranian with an unbelievable amount of love and loyalty in her small heart.
She was also loaded with personality and provided us all with hours of fun, laughter and companionship.
However, our precious angel also had a naughty streak and was one of the Houdini-type escapologists of the canine world!! We lost count of the amount of times we would have to block up fencelines or put barriers in place to stop her escaping. And look out if we mistakenly left a door open ... WHOOSH ... there she goes!!!
Once she was out, she would play a merry game of tag with us around the surrounding streets. She would wait until we were a foot away, almost smile at us, and then shoot off again like a rocket!! Yes, there were frustrating times as well!
She died very suddenly, the result of a blood disease in 2007 and we were shocked to lose so suddenly this mischievous bundle of love.
What we would have given to have had to chase her around the streets again.
