Henrietta, known as Letty, was trained at Zercho's Business College as a"Ledger Machinist". She achieved her Bachelor of Music Degree, locally, from the London College of Music. She gave birth to 5 children, 4 girls and 1 boy.
She worked for many years in Dad's butcher shops, was a partner in a florist business and was a most capable and dedicated organist at St. Peter's Church, East Bentleigh and St. Anthony's Church, Noble Park, for many years.
Mum was a very loving and caring person and couldn't do enough for her children. She was a popular lady but she and Dad didn't socialize much outside the family. Everyone was welcome at their home and no-one ever went away hungry.
Extended Information
In later years, she suffered badly with osteo-arthritis, heart problems and skin cancer. She was widowed in 1997 and eventually moved into a hostel in Springvale Rd. After several severe falls and finally, a badly broken leg which meant she would never walk again, she left the hostel for a nursing home (Ripplebrook). Her stay here was very short and following another heart attack she died suddenly at Ripplebrook. She was farewelled with a Requiem Mass at St. Anthony's and her ashes are interred with Dad's at the Memorial Garden, St. Anthony's Church, Noble Park.
